As a part of Network Unification, Digital & Technology Solutions will be implementing network upgrades, Wi-Fi changes, and migrating to new network infrastructure to enhance network security, reliability and performance. What to Expect During Migrations

Temporary Outage

  • Users in the building will experience a temporary network outage during the migration window. 
  • Connectivity is expected to be restored by 6:00 AM the next morning.

Impacted Services & Devices

  • Building security cameras
  • Power distribution units (PDUs) and uninterruptible power supply (UPSs)
  • Projectors and other AV equipment
  • Zoom and traditional phones
  • BruinCard readers
  • BruinCast
  • Desktops, laptops, and printers
  • Omnilocks

What to Expect After Migrations

Wi-Fi Changes

  • After the migration, UCLA_WEB and UCLA_WIFI will no longer be available, or the signal will be weak.
  • Users with a UCLA Logon ID are advised to manually connect to eduroam
  • Guests are advised to connect to UCLA_GUEST.
