Phone & Mobile Services

DTS’s phone and mobile services are designed with flexibility in mind—centered around Zoom Phone, a softphone solution that lets you make and receive calls from your computer or mobile device. Whether you're working on campus, remotely, or on the move, our services keep you connected without the need for a desk phone. Additional services, such as mobile phones and backup physical phones, are also available to support a wide range of communication needs.

Requesting Service

To request phone and mobile services, visit the PCR-360 CustomerCenter. For assistance, please see the PCR-360 CustomerCenter User Guide.

Zoom Phone

Zoom Phone is UCLA’s modern, cloud-based phone service that integrates seamlessly with the Zoom platform. It allows faculty and staff to make and receive calls using the Zoom desktop or mobile app, turning any laptop, tablet, or smartphone into a fully functional business phone. Zoom Phone has been adopted across all academic, administrative, and research units and is currently being rolled out to the UCLA Health Schools as part of the Bruin Voice Health project.

For more information, see Zoom Phone or visit Bruin Voice.

UCLA Health Phone Service

DTS currently provides legacy phone service, VoIP, and Cisco Jabber softphone options for UCLA Health customers. Please note that UCLA Health Schools are scheduled to transition to Zoom Phone beginning in 2025.

For more information, see UCLA Health Phone Service.

Call Processing (Voicemail, AA, & ACD)

Voicemail, Auto Attendant (AA), and Automatic Call Distribution (ACD) are call processing applications available to UCLA Health customers who are not yet on Zoom Phone.

For more information, see Call Processing.

Back-Up Phone Service

A back-up phone is a non-Zoom physical phone that can be requested for locations that contain hazardous materials, involve high-risk operations, or lack reliable network connectivity and/or cell signal. This service is offered as an addition to the Zoom Phone solution and is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

For more information, see Back-Up Phone.

UCLA Mobile Program

The UCLA Mobile Program makes procuring and billing for mobile services much easier—it offers competitive rate plans and a “campus concierge” who works directly with vendors so you can focus on other tasks. The program currently offers services from AT&T and Verizon. Over 200 campus departments use the Mobile Program today. UCLA faculty and staff are eligible for this service for business use.

For more information, see UCLA Mobile Program.

Radio Service

DTS supports a private Motorola 800 MHz radio system (UCLA Radio System) that provides portable and mobile radio coverage throughout campus and select off-campus locations, such as UA South student apartments and Santa Monica Hospital. The current radio system will transition to LA-RICS within the next 6–12 months, and customers are gradually moving to compatible devices.

For more information, see Radio Service.
