Cybersecurity Training Enforcement FAQ

Pursuant to UC policy, this training is required to ensure compliance with organizational policies and maintain secure access to our systems. Timely completion is necessary to avoid service interruptions.

If not completed by the assigned due date, you’ll enter a 14-day grace period during which access remains active. After the grace period, access to most systems and applications will be temporarily blocked until training is completed.

If you are beyond 14-days delinquent with completion of the annual UC Cyber Security Awareness Fundamentals training, you will be restricted from accessing most UCLA Single Sign-On (SSO) applications including:

  • Google Workspace Apps
  • Office 365
  • UCLA Box
  • BruinLearn

This is not an exhaustive list. Please see the list of application exclusions for additional information.

Applications that will remain accessible even if cybersecurity training completed has lapsed include:

A one-time, 72-hour extension can be granted by calling the IT Support Center at (310) 267-4357 or by emailing help@it.ucla.edu. For immediate assistance, please call the support phone number.

If the 72-hour extension is lapsed without completing the training, no further extensions will be granted for the remainder of the calendar year.

To restore full access, complete the required training.

Please follow the instructions at the top of this page to access the training course. Once the training is completed, your access will be automatically restored. Please allow up to five minutes for the system to unlock your access after the training has been completed.
