Turnitin Clarity underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, December 1, 2025. With this update, the Bruin Learn CoE is exploring Turnitin Clarity for the Winter and Spring 2026 terms to assess its ability to give instructors deeper insight into the student writing process and support responsible student use of generative AI within writing assignments. Instructors must opt in to participate; more information is available on the service page linked under the “Resources” section below.
Instructors will have access to the following features:
- A version-history playback that enables quick, intuitive review of the full writing process
- A writing report highlighting key details such as pasted text, active writing time, and revision patterns
- An insights dashboard showing all student submissions and selected writing flags
- An option to allow students to interact with an AI assistant, with instructor visibility into those interactions
Students will have access to a dedicated composition space for writing their assignments, along with optional, instructor-configured AI features.
