UCLA is launching a PDF remediation tool in Summer 2026 to help instructors and staff improve the accessibility of PDF documents. Users will be able to upload a PDF and convert it into a more accessible PDF or HTML version. The quality of the converted file may depend on the structure and quality of the original file. This tool offers an additional option for improving inaccessible PDFs, especially when the original Word, PowerPoint, or source file is not available. Rather than starting remediation directly in Adobe Acrobat, users can upload a PDF and receive a version with improved accessibility tags that may be easier to review, edit, and share with students.
