Hypothesis underwent scheduled enhancement on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. With this update, the @mentions feature is now available in Hypothesis social annotation activities, allowing users to mention specific people in their course. When someone is mentioned, they will receive a notification. For learners, this means they can easily ask instructors and peers questions directly within annotations, and receive notifications when someone responds to their comments. For instructors, this feature provides the ability to direct students to relevant content more easily, quickly respond to student questions, and increase engagement and participation in assignments.
