Bruin Learn will undergo scheduled enhancement on Monday, September 22, 2021. With this update, Instructure is changing how Canvas/Bruin Learn interacts with YouTube content. Starting September 22, 2025, YouTube videos, whether newly added or already embedded in Canvas/Bruin Learn, may begin showing advertisements. These ads are managed by YouTube and cannot be turned off within Canvas. To ensure a cleaner, ad-free viewing experience for students, we recommend embedding YouTube videos through Kaltura. This method allows instructors to continue using YouTube content in their courses while preventing ads from appearing in Canvas/Bruin Learn.
