Kaltura underwent scheduled enhancement on Friday, June 20, 2025. With this update, the Kaltura V7 Player replaced the old V2 Player, bringing several improvements for a better user experience. Enhancements include:
- Faster Load Times: Pages with embedded videos will load more quickly.
- Improved Video Support: Better compatibility for various video sizes across different page embeds and mobile devices.
- Integrated Transcript: The transcript is now built directly into the player, freeing up screen space. Users can also open it in a separate window for better accessibility.
- Chapter Markers: Chapters are now marked on the timeline, similar to YouTube, with hover-over
- titles for easy navigation.
- Automatic Picture-in-Picture Mode: The player will switch to picture-in-picture mode when the main player moves off-screen while scrolling.
