As we approach the end of the year, I’d like to share some key updates from the IT Executive Dashboard and highlight the progress we've made together. 

WEPA Print underwent scheduled enhancement on Friday, December 20, 2024. With this update, Wepa Print stations are regaining the ability to print directly from Canvas/Bruin Learn. 

Turnitin and Gradescope will undergo scheduled maintenance on Saturday, January 18, 2024, from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm PT. During this time, several Turnitin features may experience intermittent availability, and some Gradescope features will be completely inaccessible.

In UC’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding and protecting your personal data, the UC Office of the President (UCOP) is introducing enhanced security verification for accessing UCPath beginning on December 20, 2024.

iClicker underwent scheduled maintenance from Friday, December 20th, at 8:00pm to Saturday, December 21st at 5:00am. During this time, iClicker was temporarily unavailable.

Peerceptiv underwent scheduled enhancement in October 2024. With this update, Peerceptiv’s Group Formation feature enables instructors to create optimized student groups effortlessly using student survey responses. 

Cidiscape underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, December 16, 2024. With this update, Cidiscape is now available as a free add-on tool that provides data analytics for enabled Cidilabs tools, such as the DesignPLUS sidebar. 

Design Plus underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, December 16, 2024. With this update, the Cidi Labs Multi-Tool and Upload/Embed Image (UEI) tool was upgraded to version 1.3. 

iClicker underwent scheduled enhancement on Thursday, December 19, 2024. With this update, iClicker Events is now available as a new add-on service for universities with an iClicker Cloud institutional license. Designed for quick and flexible polling, iClicker Events allows instructors with an iClicker account to easily run polls without the need to set up a full iClicker course. 

Respondus underwent scheduled enhancement on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. With this update, the Respondus link on the course navigation menu was renamed from “Respondus LockDown Browser” to “LockDown Browser.” 

BruinCast underwent scheduled enhancement on Wednesday, December 18, 2024. With this update, the BruinCast team transitioned their website from an external vendor to an in-house solution for storing and sharing media content with Bruin Learn. 

Hypothesis underwent scheduled enhancement on Wednesday, December 4, 2024. With this update, the new Auto Grading feature in Hypothesis will give instructors the option to automatically calculate grades based on the number of notes students add to a Hypothesis assignment and, if desired, send those grades directly to the Bruin Learn gradebook.

Publisher Tools underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, December 16, 2024. With this update, the Bruin Learn publisher integrations for Macmillan, Pearson, and VitalSource were upgraded from Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) version 1.1 to version 1.3. 

The UCLA Information Security Office would like to raise awareness and urge caution related to an external website impersonating the legitimate UCLA Single Sign On (SSO) Authentication page to carry out credential harvesting attacks.

Bruin Learn / Canvas experienced an outage that started on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 9:17 am PT and was resolved on Friday, November 22, 2024 at 9:43 am PT. During this time, users may have encountered "500 Page Errors" when accessing Bruin Learn. 

Hypothesis underwent scheduled maintenance on Saturday, November 30th, from 12:00am -2:00am PT. During this time, the platform was unavailable. 

Through a partnership with the University of California, UCLA Information Technology Services (ITS) is excited to announce that, starting today, all departments can request premium Canva accounts for UCLA faculty and staff members at a discounted rate.
