Turnitin and Gradescope will undergo scheduled maintenance on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm PT. During this time, several Turnitin and Gradescope features will be unavailable.

Impact will undergo scheduled enhancement in Fall 2025 and beyond. With this update, as part of the Fall 2025 Impact project, we have added several new functionalities and resources to support users in Bruin Learn. 

Bruin Learn will undergo scheduled enhancement on Thursday, February 12, 2026. 

Bruin Learn will undergo scheduled enhancement in January 2026. With this update, Instructure is implementing improvements to the backend infrastructure that manages user authentication in Canvas. 

Bruin Learn underwent scheduled enhancement on Friday December 19, 2025. With this update, we will be enabling MFA for all direct-login accounts in Bruin Learn, which are used exclusively for external service integrations.

School of Nursing Bruin Learn underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, December 15, 2025. With this update, the Health Sciences versions of Zoom and Panopto will be installed in the School of Nursing Bruin Learn sub-account. 

Bruin Learn underwent scheduled enhancement on Saturday, December 13, 2025. With this update, Bruin Learn has added support for Survey-type quizzes in New Quizzes.

Bruin Learn underwent scheduled enhancement on Saturday, December 13, 2025. With this update, instructors can now manage the visibility of grades and feedback for individual assignments in the Gradebook.

Bruin Learn underwent scheduled enhancement on Friday, December 12, 2025. With this update, as part of an effort to assign MFA to direct login service accounts in Bruin Learn, we need to assign a value to the authentication_provider_id field in all Bruin Learn user accounts, not just the ones that are created through Just-In-Time provisioning. 

Bruin Learn underwent scheduled enhancement on Friday, December 5, 2025. With this update, we have added an AWS email notification, similar to the messages sent for missing UCLA Logon IDs or instructor adds/drops, that alerts subscribers whenever SIS-provisioned course sites are cross-listed. 

Bruin Learn underwent scheduled enhancement on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. With this update, as requested by the TLC, we have restarted the automated enrollment of newly hired TAs into the new PSET training site in Bruin Learn. 

iClicker underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, December 1, 2025. With this update, iClicker will introduce a feature that allows instructors to collect attendance scores and sync them directly to the Bruin Learn Gradebook. 

Turnitin Clarity underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, December 1, 2025. With this update, the Bruin Learn CoE is exploring Turnitin Clarity for the Winter and Spring 2026 terms to assess its ability to give instructors deeper insight into the student writing process and support responsible student use of generative AI within writing assignments.

Peerceptiv underwent scheduled enhancement on Friday, November 21, 2025. With this update, enhanced instructor grading tools in Peerceptiv make it easier for instructors to review and assess student work. 

Respondus underwent scheduled enhancement on Thursday, August 28, 2025. With this update, a “Screen Only” option has been added, allowing instructors to limit recordings only to a student’s screen during an exam.

There was a Campus Network Incident on Thursday, November 20, 2025, that affected multiple services across campus. Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) has restored network connectivity for all services, including student and financial systems such as MyUCLA and Bruin Bill. 

I am pleased to share October updates on UCLA’s key digital initiatives. Across campus, collective engagement continues to shape how technology services are delivered in support of teaching, research, and the broader Bruin experience.

Bruin Learn (Canvas) is currently experiencing an outage caused by an ongoing AWS incident that started on Sunday, October 19, 2025 around 10:00 pm PT. While this issue is being addressed by the service provider, we will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates to the campus community as they become available.
