Overview
The relationship between the campus CIO and the IT Strategic Partner is designed to provide continuity, strengthen communications, and facilitate alignment and governance of campus-wide IT projects and initiatives.
This model enables the campus CIO to lead the development and execution of long-term IT initiatives with the consistent and thoughtful participation of unit representatives from across the campus.
An IT Strategic Partner (SP) is designated by their unit head (i.e., by their Dean, Vice Provost, or Vice Chancellor) and has the authority to speak for the unit’s IT agenda.
IT Strategic Partners participate in campus IT governance through ongoing engagement with the campus CIO, collaboration with peer IT Strategic Partners in ad hoc clusters, and service on IT governance committees.
