Overview
The One IT Working Groups bring together students, faculty, staff, researchers, and IT professionals from across UCLA to shape the future of campus technology. Working Groups provide insights and recommendations to guide:
- Shape the future model for One IT to deliver specialized and shared services that advance academic excellence, research innovation, and student success while maximizing efficiency and security
- Recommend and identify new capabilities, services, and products to strengthen the IT ecosystem
- Define approaches that promote service continuity and provide a consistent, reliable experience for the campus community
Each group focuses on a distinct aspect of campus experience ensuring that design decisions, service models, and priorities are informed by diverse expertise and local experience.
Working Groups provide insights and recommendations to guide:
- Shape Future Models for One IT to deliver specialized and shared services that advance academic excellence, research innovation, and student success while maximizing efficiency and security
- Recommend and identify new capabilities, services, and products to strengthen the IT ecosystem
- Define approaches that promote service continuity and provide a consistent, reliable experience for the campus community
Format
- Working Groups are organized into three categories: Constituent Outcomes, Campus Capabilities, and Technology Capabilities, ensuring representation across all areas of the university.
- Each has two co-leads (A ITUL or designee and a DTS Senior Leader).
- Working groups are responsible for meeting weekly and share status updates regularly on progress. Draft recommendations will be shared for further input before final submission.
Deliverables
The working group will produce a written report to be submitted to the EVCP and CIO.
The report should include comprehensive findings detailing:
- Key digital experiences and priority pain points across roles
- Equity and accessibility assessment
- Clearly distinguish evidence-based findings from assumptions or judgment calls
- Present alternatives when consensus is not possible
A set of actionable recommendations aligned with One IT goals and UCLA’s strategic priorities, Including:
- Proposed service improvements and integration priorities
- Suggestions for resource alignment and investment to address mission-critical needs
- Recommendations for governance, communication, and support pathways that enhance end-to-end digital experiences
- Clearly indicate what action or decision is being requested
