Overleaf will undergo scheduled enhancement during the week of Monday, June 16, 2025. With this update, single sign-on (SSO) issues for Overleaf accounts using personal email addresses will be resolved. To join the UCLA Overleaf Commons subscription, Overleaf requires accounts to be linked to a valid UCLA email address (e.g., @ucla.edu, @g.ucla.edu, or @department.ucla.edu). This has caused problems for users whose official UCLA email is set to a personal address.
To address this, we are updating the SSO configuration to use the ePPN (eduPersonPrincipalName) as the mail attribute. This change allows users to sign in with their @ucla.edu email address, even if their official UCLA email is still set to a personal account. As a result, users will no longer need to change their official email address to access Overleaf Commons.
