Ally will undergo scheduled enhancement on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. With this update, the AI Generation of Alternative Descriptions for Images feature provides instructors and administrators with AI-powered suggestions to help them create alternative text for images. When enabled, an “Auto-generate description” option appears in the Instructor Feedback panel for “Images without a description”, providing a suggestion of a possible alternative description. Instructors can make changes to the alt text if they want to edit the provided AI alt text description. These AI-generated suggestions can help instructors quickly create alternative text for non-text content, supporting compliance with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards.
