The Application Integration enables seamless, secure, and scalable integration between systems across the university. Our mission is to empower application and product teams to integrate effectively by providing standardized platforms, reusable components, and expert guidance.

What We Enable

Our team enables distributed teams to independently build and manage integrations by providing the following capabilities:

  • Scalable Integration Platforms for API and file-based data exchange
  • Reusable Components such as connectors, templates, and adapters
  • Standards-Based Integration using consistent patterns and best practices
  • Expert Guidance and Enablement throughout the design and onboarding process
  • Self-Service Documentation to support efficient integration delivery

How We Do It

We deliver integration enablement through a combination of platform management, consulting, and shared technical assets:

Integration Platform Management

We manage secure and scalable platforms that form the backbone of the university’s integration landscape:

  • API Management Platform: For building, publishing, and securing RESTful APIs
  • Managed File Transfer Platform for UCPath: For secure, file-based integrations with UCPath application, both schedule based and trigger based.

Other platforms could be evaluated and added based on specific project needs.

Enablement Services

We actively support application and product teams through:

  • Consulting & Enablement for Application/Product Teams - Offer design guidance, onboarding, and support to project teams.
  • Reusable Integration Components & Frameworks - Provide pre-built connectors, adapters, and reference patterns to speed up integration delivery.
  • Integration design patterns and best practices - Define and promote architecture patterns (e.g., REST, events, error handling) for maintainable integrations.
  • Documentation & knowledge Sharing - Maintain playbooks, technical guides, and self-service resources for easier integration delivery.
