Canvas has restored initial functionality to the platform. In alignment with UC guidance, UCLA is performing security assurance, configuration, and integrity checks before re-enabling access. An announcement on platform restoration will be shared when a decision has been made. Please leverage the instructional continuity resources on the Teaching & Learning Center site to support teaching until further notice.

Dear Bruin Community:
There is currently an outage with Bruin Learn (Canvas). Digital & Technology Solutions and the Teaching and Learning Center are aware of the issue. Instructure, the parent company of Canvas, is currently responding to a nationwide outage affecting thousands of institutions.
In addition to the measures taken by Instructure, UCLA has proactively disabled local access to Bruin Learn out of precaution. The Teaching and Learning Center website is being updated to provide information about instructional continuity options for faculty.
For the most recent updates on this incident, please access UCLA’s System Status page or Instructure’s Status page. The UC Office of the President is also providing updates to the UC community as the situation evolves.
We will update when we learn more. For more details or help, please contact the DTS Service Desk at (310) 267-HELP (4357) or help@it.ucla.edu.
Sincerely,
Erin Sanders O'Leary
