Turnitin had an unexpected service incident on Wednesday, May 15, 2024. Users accessing Turnitin UK, iThenticate (V1 and V2), Crossref Similarity Check, Turnitin Similarity, Originality, and SimCheck may have experienced slowness when uploading submissions and delayed report generation. 

Kaltura underwent scheduled maintenance on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at 10 pm PT through Monday, May 20, 2024, at 1 pm PT. No service degradation was expected during this time. 

The UCLA Information Security Office is aware of a phishing campaign attempting to coerce recipients into entering their UCLA Login and MFA credentials onto a fake UCLA Login webpage. This is not a legitimate e-mail and recipients should not provide any information or click any links associated with the phishing e-mail.

UCLA Media Reserves experienced an outage that started on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 4:00 PDT and was resolved on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at 7:15 PDT. During this time, there was an interruption accessing BruinCast videos via UCLA Media Reserves.

The Mainframe Systems team will upgrade the OASIS CICS regions from V5.4 to V5.6 on Sunday, 6/16/24, at 6 a.m. The upgrade is anticipated to be completed before 9 a.m. and will be monitored post-implementation until 10 a.m.

This upgrade is necessary since the current version is no longer supported. 

The rapid rise of powerful artificial intelligence (AI) tools over the past several years has been met with feelings of both enthusiasm and concern. However, no matter how one feels about this technology, it certainly has significant implications for the way we conduct our research, academic and administrative activities.

Poll Everywhere experienced an outage that started on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at 2:49pm PDT and was resolved on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 3:42pm PDT. During this time, users were unable to insert activities into Google Slides presentations, and placeholders did not show slide content in other presenter applications. 

To uphold my commitment ensuring that all our academic, administrative, and research partners throughout UCLA have full visibility into our ITS Program Portfolio, I’d like to share the IT Executive Dashboard and a few notable highlights.

Turnitin and Gradescope underwent scheduled maintenance on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 7:00am – 12:00 pm PDT. During this time, some Turnitin and Gradescope features were be unavailable.

On March 6, 2024, Perusall added a new, optional step to the course setup process called "Student Cost." This new step is part of Perusall’s “Course Choice” option asking instructors to select an access fee between $0 and $30 per student. Perusall has agreed to temporarily pause Course Choice at UCLA until June 14, 2024.

Bruin Learn / Canvas underwent scheduled maintenance on Outcomes on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 1:00 am PT. This maintenance was expected to last up to two hours and only affected Outcomes, which may have been unavailable to users during this time. All other functions of Canvas remained operational.

UCLA will perform scheduled testing of the campus Single Sign-On (SSO) service on Sunday, 3/24/2024 from 1-2 a.m PT. This work is taking place to ensure that critical applications will function as expected in case of an outage. No disruption to service is expected.

Bruin Learn / Canvas underwent scheduled enhancement on Saturday, March 16, 2024. This change streamlines the process of managing filter selections, offering increased customization options, and facilitating faster filter navigation.

Bruin Learn / Canvas underwent scheduled enhancement on Saturday, March 16, 2024. With this change, instructors will have additional information on specific question types to evaluate student responses and provide appropriate intervention.

Bruin Learn / Canvas underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, March 25, 2024. This change allows a manual enrollment to automatically start and expire, which ensures that people do not have access to a Bruin Learn site for longer than the instructor or collaboration site owner intends.

Zoom / Kaltura underwent scheduled enhancement on Monday, March 25, 2024. With this change,  Zoom Webinar recording support will be added to the Zoom Kaltura integration.
