Bruin Learn / Canvas experienced an outage that started on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 8:54 am PST and was resolved on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at 10:23 am PST.

On January 24, 2024, our IT team identified and stopped an illegal intrusion into the Life Sciences Division IT environment. We believe our actions isolated the unauthorized access to the targeted area, which is 1.19% of the campus community. We have engaged a leading cybersecurity firm to assist in our response and notified the FBI. With their assistance, we are conducting a thorough assessment of the incident, including determining the extent of the impact to servers and data.

Bruin Learn / Canvas underwent scheduled enhancement on Saturday, February 17, 2024. This update gives instructors the ability to allow Observers, who have read-only access in their courses, to reserve appointment slots.

Kaltura underwent scheduled enhancement from Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 9:00 pm to Monday, February 19, 2024, at 12:00 pm PST. During this time, users may have experienced potential slowness and service degradation.

The UCLA Information Security Office is aware of a phishing campaign attempting to coerce recipients into entering their credentials onto a fake UCLA 2FA credentials webpage. This is not a legitimate e-mail and recipients should not provide any information or click any links associated with the phishing e-mail.

Turnitin and Gradescope underwent scheduled maintenance on Saturday, January 27, 2024 from 8:30am – 12:30pm PST. During this time, some Turnitin and Gradescope features were unavailable.
